Last Updated: May 16, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This page explains how TapIn collects, uses, and protects your information during beta and after launch.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how TapIn, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (“TapIn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with your access to and use of the TapIn mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). This Policy is intended to comply with applicable United States privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), and is designed to be adaptable to evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Policy. Where required by law, we will obtain your affirmative consent before processing your personal information for purposes not described in this Policy.
1. Company Information
TapIn, LLC is the entity responsible for the processing of your personal information under this Policy. TapIn, LLC is organized under the laws of the State of Missouri and maintains its principal place of business at 16618 Caulks Creek Rdg, Wildwood, Missouri 63005. You may contact us regarding this Policy at admin@tapin.llc.
2. Categories of Personal Information Collected
We collect and process the following categories of personal information:
-
Identifiers: name, email address, username, device identifiers, and IP address;
-
Profile information: biography, preferences, interests, photos, gender, and relocation-related data;
-
Communications: messages you send or receive through the Service and correspondence with us;
-
Technical and usage data: device type, operating system, application version, log data, and interaction patterns;
-
Location information: city-level location data and approximate geographic coordinates, where you have enabled location permissions.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as defined under applicable privacy law (such as financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, health information, or biometric identifiers) beyond what is reasonably necessary to operate the Service. Photos submitted to your profile are used for profile display and content moderation purposes only. TapIn does not use face-matching technology, biometric recognition, or automated identity verification based on your photos.
3. Location Data
TapIn uses city-level location information provided by users to support matching and location-based features. If you enable precise location permissions on your device, TapIn may also collect approximate geographic coordinates while you are actively using the Service. TapIn does not collect location data in the background when the app is not in use. You can withdraw location permissions at any time through your device settings. Your precise location is not shared with other users unless you choose to share it. Location data is used for matching, recommendations, fraud prevention, and platform safety.
4. Analytics, SDKs, and Tracking Technologies
The Service uses third-party analytics SDKs, logging technologies, and similar tools to collect technical and usage data described in Section 2. These tools may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or GAID), and usage analytics. TapIn uses this data to understand how users interact with the Service, improve functionality, and detect and prevent fraud.
You may limit advertising identifier collection through your device’s privacy settings (e.g., “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android). TapIn does not use tracking technologies for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising based on your activity across third-party services.
5. Sources of Personal Information
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, complete your profile, communicate with other users, or otherwise interact with the Service. We also collect information automatically through your device and usage of the Service, including through logging technologies and analytics SDKs. In addition, we may receive information from third-party service providers, such as authentication providers, infrastructure vendors, and analytics partners that support the functionality of the Service.
6. Purposes of Processing
We process personal information for the following business and operational purposes:
-
Providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the Service;
-
Facilitating user matching and enabling communication between users;
-
Displaying profile information and User Content to other users in accordance with your settings;

-
Sending transactional messages, service notifications, and, where you have opted in, promotional communications;
-
Complying with applicable legal obligations and enforcing our Terms of Service.
7. Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more legal bases to process your personal information. These may include: your affirmative consent where required; the necessity of processing to perform a contract with you, including providing the Service; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, provided that such interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to other users of the Service in accordance with your activity and the functionality of the platform, including profile information and content you choose to share. We may also disclose personal information to third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, database management, messaging services, analytics, and authentication providers. These service providers are contractually obligated to process personal information only as necessary to provide services to us and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
We may disclose personal information to governmental authorities, law enforcement, or other third parties where required by law, legal process, or regulatory obligation, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TapIn, our users, or others. We may also disclose personal information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.
TapIn does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Communications and Push Notifications
TapIn may send you transactional communications (such as account confirmations, security alerts, and service updates) as well as, where you have opted in, promotional emails or push notifications about new features or other TapIn offerings. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or adjusting your notification settings within the app. Opting out of promotional communications will not prevent TapIn from sending you transactional or service messages.
10. Automated Decision-Making
TapIn uses automated tools to assist with content moderation, fraud detection, and platform safety. These tools may flag content or accounts for review or enforcement action. Where automated moderation results in account suspension or content removal, you may appeal the decision by contacting admin@tapin.llc. TapIn does not use fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human oversight.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. The following retention periods apply as a general guideline:
